Contract III: Pump Station

Summary of Work Performed this week: 10/10/2009

Carson & Associates, Inc.: General Contractor Carson & Associates oversaw work listed below and placed rebar for the 24-inch retaining wall.

Harvill Byrd: Subcontractor Harvill Byrd continued minor fabrication of conduit and performed Megger testing on wires from Primary Feed PMT to Automatic Transfer Switch.

Howell Utility: Subcontractor Howell Utility began pumping water from weekend rain and placing rebar for the 24-inch retaining wall footer. On Tuesday, they poured 16yd3 at 9:00 a.m. Visqueen was used to cover the slab for protection from rain. GHBW was onsite and all tests passed within specifications. They began placing rebar and forms for 24-inch DIP Retaining Wall. Howell Utility removed wet well covers and barricaded the area. On Wednesday, they plugged the existing manhole to prepare for working inside the wet well. The attempt failed and a heavier duty plug is scheduled to arrive. They began with a preliminary washing of the wet well to prepare for a Confined Space Entrance.

Edwards Metal Inc.: Subcontractor Edwards Metal, Inc. performed minor cleanup and continued placing supply and return plenums and support.
