Contract IV: Conveyance (Pipeline)

Summary of Work Performed this week: 10/24/2009

West End Conveyance (Ranch Properties) –
The west end crew returned to East Pinnacle Road this week. The four barrel pipeline
installation began at Station 25+00 with favorable working and trench conditions. The
installation was within the design specifications. S.J. Louis has completed the pipeline in East
Pinnacle Road and the base has passed compaction testing. The pipeline has progressed
toward the tie in location with LMWWTP. The pipeline reached Station 17+40 by week’s end.
The pipeline is approximately 600 LF from the tie in point on the west end.
S.J. Louis utility crew worked on building the construction road west of LMPS. The crew
has disassembled the PVC fence and cleared small trees and bushes around Station 155+00.
Steel plates were placed over the RAW waterlines for protection and riprap was used for the
base of the construction road. SWPPP activities concentrated from Station 70+00 through
Station 102+00. The utility crew seeded the ROW and applied fertilizer. Hay mulching was
completed from Station 70+00 through Station 78+00.
Deliveries of stone were high on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. S.J. Louis had a
flagman present during all delivery activities.

East End Conveyance -
The west end crew mobilized to the entrance of Two Rivers Park. They installed two joints
of 16-inch PVC for future use by Pulaski County. The crew then proceeded into County Farm
Road at Station 267+00 and resumed installation of the 36-inch effluent pipeline.
The installation on the east end stopped at Station 266+55 this week. No pipe was laid Thursday or Friday due to wet conditions. The crew finished out the week working on air vent plumbing on ARV’s at Station 166+00 and Station 197+50. The utility crew performed road maintenance with the sweeper and motor grader. Cleanup and stabilization efforts continued at the outfall area.

S & J Construction -
S&J continued work on the CAW waterline relocation. The BAC-T testing for the new 8-
inch waterline passed and all services were tapped into the new line. The original line was
cut and plugged and is considered deactivated at week’s end. All tapping and plugging
activities were witnessed by CAW representatives. The new relocated line is now in service.
Andrew Pownall made a site visit and reviewed the red line drawings. Mr. Pownall returned
the drawings to S&J for revision and submittal. S&J will restore contours and clean up early
next week to complete activities along County Farm Road.
