Contract II: Construction of Wastewater Treatment Facility

Summary of Work Performed this week: 08/29/2009 Max Foote Construction Co. (MFCC) worked a five day work week.

Monday, 8-24-09, MFCC finishers placed 50yds of concrete for the east Clarifier Tee wall. Field test were conducted; A/E=4.5, SL=5-inches, Temp=85deg. The carpenters continued installing forms for the lower walls of the parshall flume channel. These lower walls are part of the NPW pit west wall. The operators continued excavating the retaining walls A and B area down the full length of the wall. No hauling was performed. The carpenters worked preparing the Odor Control HVAC mechanical room for equipment and transformer pads. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Clarifier walls. The carpenters continued installing the shoring and forms for the west Scum trough deck. The operators assisted the electricians in setting the prefabricated duct banks.

Tuesday, 8-25-09, MFCC finishers placed 17yds of concrete for the west Scum trough deck. Field test were conducted; A/E=4.2, SL=5.5-inches, Temp=90 deg. The carpenters completed installing forms for the U.V. lower walls of the parshall flume channel. These walls are part of the NPW pit west wall. Operators and labor crew worked the under-drain #57 stone placements on the south side of the Headworks building. The carpenters began installing gang forms for the north RAS room stairwell wall. The finishers continued installing the shoring and forms for the center Scum trough deck. The pipefitters began installing the 30-inch effluent piping for the U.V. building. The finishers placed 15yds of concrete for the U.V. building NPW and parshall wall.

Wednesday, 8-26-09, MFCC carpenters installed forms for a CMU stub wall in the Headworks building. The carpenters began installing forms for the west Scum trough skimmer box. Operators and labor crew continued working the under-drain #57 stone placements on the south side of the Headworks building. The carpenters continued installing gang forms for the north RAS room stairwell wall. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Clarifier walls. The carpenters installed the rebar and forms for the west Scum box valve pit. The pipefitters completed installing the 30 inch effluent piping for the U.V. building, and started installing the U.V. under-drain piping on the east side of the effluent box. The carpenters began installing gang forms for the north A-B pass Tee wall intersection to the RAS room wall.

Thursday, 8-27-09, MFCC carpenters completed the CMU stub wall in the Headworks building. The carpenters completed installing forms for the west Scum trough skimmer box. Operators and labor crew continued working under-drain #57 stone placements on the south side of the Headworks building. The carpenters completed installing gang forms for the north RAS room stairwell wall. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Clarifier walls. The carpenters began layouts of the Blower building HVAC mechanical slab. The pipefitters continued installing the U.V. under-drain piping on the east side of the effluent box. This piping is installed complete with rock and filter fabric. The carpenters began installing gang forms for the north Aeration A-B pass Tee wall intersection to the south RAS room wall.

Friday, 8-28-09, MFCC carpenters completed equipment pad preparations for the Odor Control building. Operators and laborers cleared trees northeast of the U.V. building. This area is being prepared for the force main and effluent piping installation. Finishers continue cleaning and patching the upper Clarifier walls. The carpenters began excavation of the Blower building HVAC mechanical slab footing. The pipefitters and laborers installed silt fence for the northeast plant buffer zone. The carpenters continued installing gang forms for the Aeration A-B pass Tee wall intersection to the south RAS room wall.

C&D Steel Erectors, Inc: Subcontractor C&D Steel Erectors completed installing the rebar and associated steel for the U.V. building NPW box walls and slab. C&D completed the wall steel for the Scum boxes.

Electrique Corporation: Subcontractor E.C. continued working fabrication and installation of the duct bank “A” north of the Blower building.

Jocon Incorporated Building Erectors: Subcontractor Jocon completed installing the standing seam for the south roof line for the Odor Control building. Jocon worked roof trim for the entire Odor Control building.

Midwest Coatings: Subcontractor Midwest Coatings worked pressure washing and cleaning the exterior of the Odor Control CMU block walls.

DMG Masonry: Subcontractor DMG worked installing the lintels and CMU block above the roll up doors for the Odor Control building.

Henley Construction: Subcontractor Henley installed the leveling pad for wall “A’ behind the Admin building. They have installed the first course of block for approximately ¾ of the walls base complete with SB-2 backfill.
