Contract II: Construction of Wastewater Treatment Facility
Summary of Work Performed this week: 09/12/2009

Max Foote Construction Co. (MFCC) worked a five day work week.
Monday, 9-07-09,MFCC No activities due to the Labor Day holiday
Tuesday, 9-08-09, MFCC carpenters and operators excavated the influent well for the U.V. building and began layouts for the formwork. Operators worked backfilling the area between the Filter and U.V. buildings. The pipefitters and laborers worked on the wall-A layouts on the east end of the wall. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Aeration Basin walls. The carpenters began installing shoring and forms for the Aeration C-D pass upper beam. The carpenters continued relocating shoring and forms from the west Scum skimmer slab to the east side skimmer slab. The carpenters continued installing gang forms to the southeast RAS room wall. The carpenters began working the upper west Scum box walls and valve vault.
Wednesday, 9-09-09, MFCC carpenters and operators completed excavation of the influent well for the U.V. building and began layouts and formwork for the box footing. Operators and pipefitters began excavation and installation of the 30-inch effluent piping on the north side of the Clarifier. The carpenters began working door frame installations at the Headworks building. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Aeration Basin walls. The carpenters completed installing shoring and forms for the Aeration C-D center east beam. The carpenters prepared the Blower building mechanical room slab for concrete placement. The carpenters continued installing gang forms to the southeast RAS room walls.
Thursday, 9-10-09, MFCC carpenters placed 8yds of concrete for the U.V. building influent box slab. The operators and pipefitters continued excavation for the 30-inch effluent piping on the north end of the Clarifier. The carpenters continued working door frame installations at the Headworks building. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Aeration Basin walls. The carpenters continued installing shoring for the C-D pass center east beam. The finishers completed the Blower building mechanical HVAC slab. The carpenters continued installing gang forms to the southeast RAS room wall. The finishers completed installing the concrete for the Odor Control mezzanine deck. MFCC was rained out of the project at noon
Friday, 9-11-09, MFCC carpenters began installing wall forms for the U.V. building influent box. Operators and pipefitters continued excavation for the 30-inch effluent piping on the north end of the Clarifier. The finishers placed 75yds of concrete for the southeast RAS room wall. Field tests were conducted; A/E=4.5, SL=4-inches, Temp=86 deg. The finishers continued cleaning and patching the upper Aeration Basin walls. The carpenters completed installing shoring for the C-D pass east beam. The finishers placed curing compound on the Blower building mechanical slab. The carpenters began removing all unused gang forms from the Aeration Basin walls.
Saturday, 9-12-09, MFCC operators and pipefitters installed 80-feet of 30-inch piping for the U.V. effluent discharge. The road crossing was completed with backfill and compaction. Operators and pipefitters completed excavation for the 30-inch effluent piping on the north end of the Clarifier and installed the piping.
Electrique Corporation: Subcontractor
E.C. installed the exterior outlets for the Odor and Headworks buildings. They began installing the breaker cabinets for the Odor Control MCC room.
Jocon Incorporated Building Erectors: Subcontractor
Jocon completed installing the roofing insulation for the Headworks south roof line and completed installing the standing seam roof on the north roof line.
Midwest Coatings: Subcontractor
Midwest Coatings continued priming the interior of the Odor Control walls and completed priming and finish coats for the MCC room.
DMG Masonry: Subcontractor
DMG continued installing the brick veneer to the north face of the Odor Control building. DMG also continued installing CMU for the Headworks north and west walls.
Henley Construction: Subcontractor
Henley completed installing 10 course levels for wall-A behind the Admin building. The installation is complete with SB-2 backfill and all required density testing completed per specification.
