LRW Divisions

Your Little Rock Wastewater provides several functions along with multiple layers of services within each.

Communications

The LRW Communications Department was created in March 2002 with the primary goals of developing and administering effective public relations programs and preparing, distributing, and overseeing written and broadcast publications.

Each quarter, the department develops and publishes two major publications:  The Current Report (quarterly major projects update) and The Pipeline (the LRW employee newsletter).  These two publications help inform the public and our employees of current events and areas of major construction.

One of the most important contributions attributed to the Communications Department is the Can the Grease program, a customer education initiative. Can the Grease servess to educate residents about the hazards of dumping household cooking fats down their drains. A large part of the program involves giving out free Can the Grease starter kits to Little Rock residents who request it as well as to apartment complexes in Little Rock.
Other education initiatives include the Captain Sewer program where Captain Sewer makes special visits to elementary schools around Little Rock to educate children on water conservation, recycling and protecting the environment.  Another education initiative is the Stay Connected program where we educate the public on sewer service line knowledge and maintenance.

The Communications Department creates literature and communications plans for customers regarding rate structures, public education programs, work in your neighborhood construction brochures and many other types of media to get the message to our customers.
