Jean Block is an Assistant Attorney General assigned to the Consumer Protection division of the Public Protection section of the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office.
Ms. Block is from Mill Valley, California. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995 with a B.A. in Sociology. She received her law degree from the University of Kansas, School of Law in 1999.
In May, 2000, Ms. Block moved to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. She obtained her New Mexico law license in August, 2000, and served as the Public Defender for the Pueblo of Isleta, a New Mexico Indian tribe from August, 2000 through May, 2002. She moved to Central Arkansas with her husband in May, 2002, and practiced bankruptcy law with the law firm of Wilson and Associates from 2002 through the summer of 2005.
She has been an attorney in the Consumer Protection division of the Attorney General’s Office since August 2005. In the fall of 2007, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel established the Health Care Bureau within the Consumer Protection Division. The Health Care Bureau handles health-related consumer complaints, policy issues, and litigation. Ms. Block has served as the head of the Health Care Bureau since its inception.
Her current term expires August 1, 2015.
