Since 2001, Mr. Mays has worked at Mays Byrd & Associates in Little Rock, Arkansas where he primarily settles claims with insurance adjusters and interviews prospective clients for intake. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Mays was Vice President for Harvestons Securities, Inc. where he established relationships with new clients to help fulfill their investment requirements. He also maintained accounts for clients in various parts of the country and initiated new client contacts and cultivated new business for private placement and underwriting deals. Mr. Mays was also the Vice President of Weems & Co. and was the Chief Operating Officer for Village Square Properties.
In conjunction with his current term of service on the Sanitary Sewer Committee, Mr. Mays also serves as a Commissioner for the Arkansas Board of Parole, which responsibilities include reviewing all Pardon and Executive Clemency Applications and making non-binding recommendations to the Governor, as well as conducting hearings of inmates eligible for parole and transfer eligibility at Arkansas Department of Corrections and Department of Community Corrections.
Mr. Mays graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance. He then obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Webster University and went on to achieve his Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
His current term on the Sanitary Sewer Committee expires: August 1, 2013
